The Shakespeare band

Is part of a research program at Rose Bruford College on Musicality and Shakespeare, premiere at the R.B.C. Symposium, April 15th 2010.

In this performative structure we seek to explore the direct relationship between music and theatre in exploring specific techniques of music and applying them to the actor's craft. The performance will consist of a music band playing live music in which the text will not be sung but spoken and performed by theatre actors. The band will explore in this way the great monologues and duologues from Shakespeare, and show how they can be as alive and immediate to contemporary audiences. - concieved and directed by Matthieu Leloup, devised by Bred In The Bone and Collaborators.
